London Photowalk with Peter Forsgård & Michael Wayne Plant from DxO, on 22nd May 2026
Street photography is best learned on the street. This May, we’re doing exactly that.
On Friday 22 May, Peter Forsgård is partnering with DxO, for an evening photowalk, through one of London’s most visually charged neighbourhoods. Starting at The Photographers’ Gallery in Soho, the route moves through the Carnaby Street area. A part of the city that is visually interesting. Especially as on Friday evenings the world comes to play on the streets of Soho.
This isn’t a workshop. There’s no syllabus, no prescribed image list, and no pretence that street photography can be reduced to a set of teachable moves. What it is, is time, structured time, in a real environment, with two photographers who have thought seriously about what street photography work actually means and demands.

The People Leading It
Alongside Peter, is Michael Wayne Plant DxO’s Global Product Specialist and one of the co-founders of Street-Photography.net. Michael’s perspective extends beyond the moment of capture. His work is informed by his social documentary photography practice that borrows from street photography and his study of urban photography through his MA in Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths College. This experience will be part of the conversation throughout the evening.
How the Evening Works
The group meets outside The Photographers’ Gallery at 5pm. After a brief introduction, there’s approximately 90 minutes of open shooting time in the surrounding area. Both Peter and Michael will be present throughout, available, but not hovering. The emphasis is on independent work with room for conversation, when it’s useful.
At 7pm, the group reconvenes at The Photographers’ Gallery Café. Not for an image review, that comes later, but for the kind of debrief that only happens when people have been working through the same environment with different eyes. What you noticed. What you avoided. Where things opened up or closed down.
Following the event, participants can upload images to a private gallery for individual written feedback. It’s the part that most short-format events skip, and often the part where the real thinking happens.

Who Should Come
photographers who feel they’ve plateaued, those repeating familiar patterns and looking for some friction. It will suit people who’ve followed Peter’s work and want to test those ideas somewhere less theoretical than a screen. And it will suit anyone thinking beyond single images, starting to consider how their work holds together as a body rather than a collection of individual shots.
Bring whatever camera you use. Phone, Mirrorless, DSLR, Rangefinder, it genuinely doesn’t matter, just bring your camera.
